城市空间拓展规划受到多方面因素的影响。要适应我国城市化发展的现实需要和长远要求,实现城市空间拓展的科学性、合理性和前瞻性,确保城市空间拓展的经济性、高效性和实用性,必须高度重视城市空间拓展策略。从我国城市化发展的实际情况来看,这些策略应包括:主体社会化策略、城建立体化策略、城市信息化策略、城乡一体化策略、城际协作化策略。各城市可以根据自身的不同情况具体选用相应的策略。

The plan of city space development is influenced by various factors, and the strategy of the city space development should be attached great importance to, for the adaption to the needs of reality and the long-term demand of urbanization development. Considering the actual situation of urbanization development in China, the paper maintains that the different combinations of strategies may vary corresponding to different situation of cities, including:1) subject socialization strategy. City space development has extended its subjects to socialization rather than governmental subjects only, so as to mobilize and make full use of all sorts of social powers to expand and construct city space, thus speed up expanding city space. It requires its socialized subject, namely the variety of social power, being guaranteed. With the subject of city space expansion being socialized, all kinds of social power participate in the field of city construction by the same rules; 2) urban construction three-dimensional strategy. The efficiency rate of limited land and space will be enhanced by constructing the city in three-dimension, both upwards in the air and downwards underground; 3) city informationization strategy. The information dissemination and information exchange within and between cities will be upgraded together with informationization and network construction. In view of city space expansion, this strategy does not only support the city industrialization or informationization strongly, but in fact, greatly expand the city information space up to a new level and boost the urbanization in full scales; 4) urban- rural integration strategy. Through the process of integrating urban and rural area, city space is expanded in a stepwise manner efficiently while the rural space will be urbanized constantly; 5) interurban cooperation strategy. Interurban cooperation will be utilized to expand the survival and developmental space. This is a city space development strategy based on the close social and economical connection among adjacent or nearby cities. The indispensable significance results from the following reasons:On one hand, it expands local land space and solves the problems of metropolitan living conditions; On the other hand, it enlarges social developmental space so as to resolve the problem of economy development in small cities. Moreover, it promotes social and economic development and speeds up the process of urbanization in transitional areas.
