A METHOD STUDY ON LAYOUT OF INTERCITY TRANSPORT NETWORK: BASED ON GRAVITY MODEL

Abstract:In developing countries, the traffic network always played an important role in pushing regional economic and social development. Nowadays, the development of road network system has become one of essential conditions to mature urban spatial system. In the process of urbanization in China, the rapid development of the urban economics and the spread of the urban spatial scale have brought forward to a higher requirement to the inter-city transport system than before. Therefore, it is very important to optimize the layout of the road network between cities and towns, to improve the road network coverage and accessibility, push the economic development and promote the urban spatial structure optimization on the basis of the urban spatial layout and social-economic features. All of this make the work of the transport network planning become one important part of urban development planning. However, the traditional methods of transport network planning, which emphasized on the layout of the traffic network's own, used the network indicators, such as connectivity, accessibility, indirect rate, to describe the road network layout, and neglect the coordination and adaptation to the layout of the inter-city road network, the urban space expansion, the productivity distribution and so forth. In order to solve those problems and difficulties, first of all, the authors analyzed the relationship among the inter-city road network layout, the economic composition and urban spatial distribution; then analyzed the effect of inter-city road network on the development of urban system. At the same time, combined with the topological structure of transport network, a multi-objective programming model of the inter-city road network layout was established in this paper. At last, as the result, the authors proposed the suitable layout models of inter-city expressway network for the year of 2015. Meanwhile, the results show that, this model can reflect the requirements on inter-city road network layout in urban construction and economic development.
