本文对城市化的内涵进行了新的诠释,指出城市化应是城乡关联发展的过程,其实质是城乡文化的整合。在这个基础上,本文对城乡关联发展研究的理论动态作了详细的评析,并指出人们越来越重视城乡网络化关联发展研究。城乡关联发展是城市化不可回避的发展态势,这为城乡之间的文化整合创造了前提条件。城乡文化整合是城市化在城乡关联基础上的深化和拓展,体现了城市化过程中城乡居民共享文明的根本目标。本文还对城乡文化和城乡文化整合进行了分析。

The study of urbanization is one of the multidisciplinary sciences which has been defined by respective sciences from different perspectives. This paper puts forward a refreshed explanation for urbanization, claiming that it is a process in which urban regions and rural areas develop in a correlated way and basically in which urban culture and rural culture integrate. It introduces the dynamic state of theoretical research as to the urban-rural correlated development in detail, dissertates for urban-rural development a new research trend which can easily be identified with the newly developed urban-rural network of correlation staring from 1970s, rather than the preceding and overwhelming outlook of urbanization or rural development. More and more attention is being paid to the network of urban-rural correlated development, which is consequential in the process of urbanization and therefore affording preconditions to urban and rural fair communication and cultural integration. Expounding urban-rural correlated development from a broad sense of culture, the paper proposes that the disparity between town and country is in essence the difference between two cultures. It also makes a detailed explanation for the cultural representation of urban-rural antithesis from such four stratifications as material culture, mental culture, behavioral culture and institutional culture. The disparity between town and country is more than the rootstock of town-country antithesis;it also makes it feasible and necessary for the two sides to achieve correlated development. The ultimate goal of urban-rural correlated development is not getting rid of differences but getting rid of antithesis. Urban and rural cultural integration is a valid way to make up the respective cultural defectiveness. Urban and rural cultural differences are chiefly the differences between modern industrial culture and traditional agricultural culture, so what we should do is to retain the beneficial section and integrate it with something in rural culture in order to congregate the excellent culture in district. Urban-rural cultural integration is the deepening up of urbanization based on urban-rural correlation and incarnates the fundamental target that the residents in cities and villages all can benefit from it.
