ENVIRONMENTAL PERCEPTION AND AWARENESS BUILDINGOF BEIJING CITIZENS——A Case Study of Nansha River

Abstract:Environmental perception has been drowning more and more attention all over the world.In the paper, we illustrate the process of environmental perception by a case study of Nansha River in Beijing, and three characteristics of environmental perception are put forward, that is, inaccuracy of environmental perception, Spatial levels of environmental perception, and Cultural groups of environmental perception.Meanwhile, the paper emphasizes the spatial order in the classic environmental perception model would be changed in different circumstances.Finally, based on the characteristics of environmental perception of Beijing citizens, some countermeasures are put forward to establish environmental awareness.
