本文回顾了南京大学城市地理研究发展变迁的历史过程,将其划分为探索研究时期、复苏发展时期、旺盛发展时期和多元化发展时期几个阶段,系统总结了在城市化、城镇体系、城市与区域规划及管治等领域的研究成果。南京大学是国内最早开展城市化理论、城镇体系理论及城市与区域研究的机构,提出了"三结构一网络"的城镇体系结构、"城市-区域"观等经典理论。改革开放后的30多年来,南京大学城市地理高度融合理论研究与规划实践,取得了长足的发展并夯实了自己的学科发展优势。在未来发展中,应进一步加强对健康城市化、城市网络体系、城市空间重构及宜居城市与智慧城市等内容的研究。

Nanjing University is one of the main units of the earliest engaged in research and teaching of urban geography. During the past 60 years, the urban geography of our school relies on multidisciplinary comprehensive advantages of science, liberal arts, economics, etc., follows the world urban geography development trends, and insufficient emphasizes on the theoretical study and planning practice of urban geography with a high degree of integration. Now, we have accumulated a great systematic research in theoretical research and application fields of urban geography.
This paper reviews the historical process of development and changes of urban geography in Nanjing University, and divides the historical process into four stages, including the exploration and study period, the recovery period of development, the vigorous period of development and the diversified development period. Then, the author summaries the research result about urbanization, urban system, urban and regional planning and governance systematically. Nanjing University was one of the earliest institutes to carry out urbanization theory, theory of urban system and urban and regional research, and the researchers in Nanjing University brought out several classical theories, such as urban system structure (Urban rating scale structure, functional structure, the spatial structure and the network structure), the concept of "urban-region", and so on. In the future, the research aspects about the health of urbanization, urban network system, the urban space remodeling, livable city and wisdom city will be further strengthen.
