作者总结了国内外关于边境旅游的研究进展。指出国外研究的成果主要集中在目的地合作和冲突管理、边界效应与旅游影响等方面;国内研究侧重于旅游产品规划与开发,旅游目的地空间结构和管理等方面,国内整体研究水平不高。分析认为,在全球化和区域经济一体化背景下,加强边境旅游的区域性综合研究,重视旅游边界效应的测度,进而揭示跨境合作的内在机理,是中国边境旅游研究的重要方向。

Border Tourism, which is an important research focus in the western world since 1990, is yet lack of in-depth theoretical research in China. Since the studies of Chinese's border tourism much later than abroad, there are a certain gap in practice and theoretical between the studies of foreign and domestic, so we try to take more systematic summary researches on border tourism, and hope to obtain revelation on the Chinese border tourism researches. In this article, the authors conduct a review of both abroad and domestic literatures on the study of border tourism, and point out that the major achievement of abroad studies are mainly on destination management of cooperation and conflict, as well as the effects of border tourism. while the major achievements of domestic studies are mainly on: basic concept, spatial structure and management of tourism destinations, mechanism of regional cooperation in border tourism, the influence factors and driving forces of border tourism, the planning and development of border tourism. In conclusion, there is obvious discrimination on the domestic and abroad studies of border tourism. In the research phase, the foreign researches have more than 80-year histories and come into a relatively mature stage, but compared with other forms of tourism, also relatively weak and full of great potential. In the research contents, foreign researches mainly concentrate on the aspects of destination co-operation and management, the impact and effects of border tourism. However, the domestic researches focus on border tourism product development, mechanism of regional cooperation and so on. On the cases' selection, foreign cases including the border crossings and cross-border tourism areas, but domestic researches mainly on the border area. In the theories and methods of research, the foreign studies inclined to combine with more specific cases, use the qualitative and quantitative research methods in it. Even so, mostly domestic researches apply to descriptive and empirical methods. In the future, we will strengthen the researches of domestic as following. Firstly, we must expand the scope of the study areas. Secondly, we should enlarge the research fields. Thirdly, we can take innovation in research methods and theories. Finally we should take many attentions on the international cooperation research and strengthen the analysis and reference into the international experiences and achievements.
