EMPIRICAL RESEARCH ON VISITORS OF IMAGE PERCEPTION FOR THE LANDSCAPE OF FOOD CULTURE IN GUANGZHOU

Abstract:As a slogan for Guangzhou's image,"Eating in Guangzhou" integrated enjoyment of taste, vision and hearing, it became a significant attraction for visitors from outside Guangzhou. Based on a sample survey for visitors from outside Guangzhou at primary tourist spots in Guangzhou, this paper discussed the characteristic of what visitors had apperception for the landscape of food culture in Guangzhou, and then concluded as follows. Firstly, shopping was the most popular thing in the whole tourism image in Guangzhou, and the second was the food; secondly, most visitors had preference for traditional food and food custom; thirdly, visitors paid more attention to environment and service of restaurant, but on the whole they felt satisfaction at it; last but not least, the most prominent one was its multiply character in the preference of visitors for food culture of Guangzhou. The food culture in Guangzhou paid more attention to nutrition, sanitation, recreation and delicacy, which got a consistent appreciation in this survey. This study had theoretic and practical significations for exploring food culture resources in Guangzhou in the reasonable way.
