Abstract:Since 21st century, information technology has got rapid development around the world. The information technology is not only affects the human economic structure and social form, but also changes the global physical and virtual space structure. On the other hand, the city has become an essential resource in modern tourism, the space is also proved to be the important carrier and elements of tourism development, which makes the city become the significant tourist destination. In the age of information technology, the relationship between geographic information and entity space has become a hot research theme. Based on the geographic information technology, by collecting 500 visitors with their geo-referenced photos and using GIS spatial analysis method, this paper analyzed the spatial characteristics of tourist flows and identified visitor's spatial behavior patterns in Nanjing city and the Yangtze River Delta. First of all, according to the method of kernel density, tourist flow in Nanjing is concentrated in the urban area, including Qinhuai, Xuanwu, Gulou and Baixia these four districts, and shows a trend of spreading from the central urban district to the city outskirts, with characteristics of miniaturization and plaques in the spatial distribution. At last, Nanjing with linear route around Yangtze River Delta cities are dominated by point to point model, the regional flow patterns with the convenient city centers are for the majority, the tourist flow patterns are match with the authors of Alan Lew and Bob McKercher's standpoint who proposed three kinds of linear routes and four regional models.
