Abstract

Strengthening environmental protection is an urgent task facing all the countries of the world. The viewpoint of "combining Heven and man as one" in Chinese traditional culture had promoted our environmental protection. However, other concepts such as "more son, more happiness" and "no descendents is the most serious one in all three unfilled obscendences" have been strongly controlling people's mind. As a result, populaion's overflow leads people to meet their basic need of life at the cost of sacrificing environment. Therefore, in order to improve environmental protection in our country. it is very important to assimilate the essence and reject the dross of ancient culture on the basis of recognizing and evaluating its positive and negative effects to environmental protection.
