Abstract

The evolutionary model of urban system (EMUS)proposed by Prof. P. M. Allen has been described? this paper. Some results of EMUS modelling and the relation between the modelling and urban geography, scch as urban development process, EMUS and Zipf's law, EMUS and central places theory, modelling of decisionmaking with EMUS, has been analysised. It is concluded that the EMUS is a very useful tool for regional research.
