Abstract By the financial support from Chinese Culture Fund of Taiwan for the Mainland scholar research project, the well-known Buddhism temples of Taiwan Region were surveyed and investigated. The research achievements with the Buddhism culture tourism of Taiwan were reviewed. The intensive and deep academic communication with the scholars of Taiwan was conducted. Focusing on the main issues currently exposed in the Buddhism cultural tourism in Mainland China, from the viewpoint of tourism science, the successful approaches of the Buddhism culture tourism of Taiwan Region were analyzed and summarized for the reference of Mainland China. In this paper, the Buddhism culture tourism resource and market of Taiwan region were analyzed. The results show that the Buddhism culture tourism of Taiwan region is characterized with the fruitful resources, extensive market, and great potential. However, the academic field of Taiwan region has paid no attention to the research on the Buddhism culture tourism. Based on the review of the research achievements with the Buddhism culture tourism of Taiwan, from the planning and layout of temple, the design and construction of building, the creation of the Buddhism culture ambiance, the management of the service principle and quality, and the organizing and planning of the Buddhism culture activities, the Buddhism culture tourism of Taiwan region is characterized with the creation of the temple ambience highlighting the Buddhism thought and ideality, the service and management highlighting the Buddhism culture features, and the strong participation and high experiencing extent. Aiming at the problems of the Buddhism culture tourism in Mainland China, some suggestions were proposed to promote the development of the Buddhism cultural tourism in Mainland China.
