Abstract Local embeddedness of transnational corporations (TNCs) within global production networks (GPNs) deserves academic attention. Most current studies on the embeddedness of TNCs have focused on industrial linkages, technological spillovers, and social network, whereas labor market has not been given due attention. Under the background of labor geography, new economic geography and other disciplines, based on the core concepts of global production network, local embeddedness, spatial fis, etc, the study also examines the impact of TNCs' local labor network on economic geographical landscape of regional labor, reveals the local embeddedness of mechanisms TNCs in local labor market, and explores the strategic coupling paths between the local embeddedness of labor market and regional development. In the future, the main research topics may include how to identify the mechanisms of labor supply and demand factors on local embeddedness of multinational companies, how to analyze the relationship between labor space practice and initiative under the special labor control system, how to depict the impact of the local embeddedness of multinational companies on regional labor economic geographical landscape, and how to summarize the strategic coupling mode of local embeddedness and regional development of multinational companies.
