Based on the traditional fishing industry, recreation-fishing industry is a new type of industry, which is connected with people's recreation life, and combined with modern tourist industry. Since 90s' it has flourished in the world and is just getting popular in China. As a famous coastal city in China, Dalian has more advantages and characteristics than Beijing and Shanghai concerning the sea. So there must be great significance in discussing the development of coastal recreation industry in Dalian. First, it can utilize the idle asset and modify the construction of fishing industry. At the same time, it can alleviate the deep contradiction between the fishing work and the fishing area. Second, it caters to regular pattern of townspeople recreation life, prolongs the tourists' detaining time in Dalian, and widens the territory of Dalian's coastal tourist industry. Third, it can improve the quality of natural environment, beautify the citizens's living conditions, and promote the regional reform. Dalian has lo ts of superiorities in developing coastal recreation industry, such as tourist resources, fishing resources, and the enormous potential of the tourist market. At the end of the thesis, the author points out several questions in developing coastal recreation industry in Dalian, which focus on weak-sighted, short-sighted and missing-pointed, and the author puts froward some suggestions, for example, creating propaganda atmosphere, formulating recreation fishing plans and setting up multiple channels for collecting capital.
