Firstly, the paper describes terminal market category and conception that it connects producer, middle-wholesaler and consumer. Secondly, the paper analyses synthetic characteristics of terminal market's situation in Beijing, then compares their changes from 1993 to 1999, also compares their difference in each county in Beijing. And the author also compare the differences between all kinds of markets' layout, then use series of indexes such as the number of terminal market, transaction value, unit market transaction value, concentration indexes and so on. The subject involves two parts: one is all terminal market in Beijing, and the other is the terminal market whose transaction values are over 100, 000, 000 Yuan. Moreover, the paper analyses some representative terminal markets as example to show the factors that influence its' layout. At the end of this paper, the author based on the analyses draws some conclusions. These conclusions are suggested as follows: firstly suburban district have more terminal market than other places, it's transaction values higher than other place too; secondly, terminal market in ex-urban district increases more quickly than suburban district; third, most producers' material markets distribute in suburban district, and it is most concentrated than other kind of markets such as household market; forth, most terminal markets which include retail and wholesale situate in suburban district, and wholesale terminal market frequently situate in exurban district, and retail terminal market often situate in city zone; fifth, most terminal market whose transaction value increase distribute in good traffic condition place and in suburban district. These conclusions can give us some opinions, when we decide where to place a terminal market. These opinions include synthetically consider all kinds of factors which can influence a terminal market's situation. This paper has a distinguishing feature that it uses many data, tables and figures to analyze terminal market's distribution. These data all come from statistical annuals and Beijing Business Bureau's year reports.
