RESEARCH ON THE CHANGES AND INFLUENCING FACTORS OF FARM HOUSHOLDS' DAILY LEISURE IN JIANGHAN PLAIN

Abstract：Contemporary rural leisure activities and their spatial changes are important perspectives to understand the change of rural human-land's relationship. However, it seems that the geographical study of rural leisure changes have not received due attention, especially the content and methods of the daily leisure changes of rural households in traditional agricultural areas. In this paper, focusing on the rural households of Jingshan in Jianghan Plain, we attempt to examine the changes of rural households' daily leisure through the questionnaire survey and the field interview. Described the changing characteristics of daily leisure in three aspects:leisure type, leisure space and leisure pattern. A multiple linear regression model is used to examine the influencing factors of rural households' level of leisure's development. The findings can be drawn as follows:1) From 2007 to 2017, the daily leisure types of rural are traditional in generally, "entertainmentoriented" daily leisure has always occupied a dominant position, but the trend of diversification and modernization has been shown. 2) Correspondingly, rural households take "home-oriented" space as the mainly leisure location, but it is a trend for them to get out of the house and enjoy leisure in a wider space. 3) During the study period, "home-entertainment-oriented" is the mainstream pattern of daily leisure for rural households, while "home-development-oriented" leisure represented by "mobile phone/internet" is growing rapidly. 4) The level of rural leisure's development is driven by demand and supply factors at the same time.
